Dusty's Friends - Ben Seymour
Ben Seymour is a former SuperRugby player and now a leading fitness trainer who loves a challenge!  He is super passionate about helping people make significant lifestyle changes and bringing about new levels of fitness, health and well being. 
We are stoked to have Benny as one of Dusty's Friends.  We caught up with him this past week to see how he thinks about running and his favourite jaunts.
Keeping it coastal on a long run
How did you get into running and what do you love about it? 
I used to run competitively as a kid but when playing rugby it was a lot of short explosive efforts rather than long distance. Since retiring I enjoy testing my body and mind on some longer runs and see how far I can really go.

What’s your favourite trail to run/hike/explore?  

So far my favourite has been running 85km across Bali for charity as part of the Bali Hope Ultra. It was gruelling in the heat and running over night but I pushed myself and completely emptied the tank.

Then why? What made it so good?

Running to raise money and awareness for Bali Children Foundation. There was also a bit of chat around me being the bigger guy there and not having what it takes to finish it.. Thats always a bit of extra motivation haha and coming 4th was a bonus!

Quote me..

I’m not one really for a motivational quote as motivation comes and goes but having discipline, purpose and drive is what I rely on. My mates always throw the ‘Don’t be a pussy’ card at me as they know it stirs me up like a bull seeing red haha.
